Varicose Veins:
Case #1
This varicose vein actually had its source behind the knee. It was a relatively difficult vein to eliminate in that it required two sessions of foam sclerotherapy and two touch-ups.

Case #2
This is a forty-year-old woman. Only one injection was required to eliminate the vein you see on the left. But she also required one treatment prior to this to eliminate the source of her problem. In many clinics, no effort would have been made to find the source, and direct treatment of the visible vein would have resulted in failure or recurrence. Using Doppler and ultrasound the source was easily located in her groin. The source was eliminated in the first session using ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy.

Case #3
This 30 year old male had injured his shin at work three months ago, and the wound had refused to heal. The problem had gone undiagnosed, because most doctors have a poor understanding of varicose veins and their effect on circulation and healing. The ulcer healed in a few weeks with the use of prescription support hose. The varicose veins were eliminated with foam sclerotherapy.

Case #4
This 29 year old male lost about 100 pounds in the year before this photo was taken. Unfortunately, his weight loss did not cure his varicose veins. This massive vein is called the Anterolateral Thigh Vein. It originates in the groin. It was eliminated with foam sclerotherapy.

Case #1
The photo on the left was taken immediately before his second CoolGlide laser treatment to eliminate the remaining facial veins.

Case #2
The photo on the right was taken immediately after one treatment with the CoolGlide laser. The redness is from the treatment itself and will resolve in about one day. You can also see a few thin blue streaks. These are tiny clots inside the treated veins. They will resolve in about two weeks. He returned five years later for a touch-up. He still looked better than before treatment.

Spider Nevi and Capillary Hemangiomas
Case #1
This is a true spider nevus. It has a central vein and numerous tiny "legs" spreading out from it. This vein was eliminated with a single shot from the CoolGlide laser. The photo on the left is immediately after treatment. The nevus is gone . The remaining redness is from the treatment itself and will resolve in about one day. You can also see some redness on the right side of her nose from treating a few tiny veins there.

As a general rule of thumb, the upper lip should be about half the size of the lower lip. These lips are now much more balanced.

Lower Lip Augmentation
As a general rule of thumb, the upper lip should be about half the size of the lower lip. Her lips were already equal in size, so we chose to do a mild augmentation of the lower lip to provide a fuller, but more balanced, appearance. Most of the filler was used to give more definition to the edge of the lower lip.

Botox alone failed to reduce these lines sufficiently, so Restylane was used to fill the remaining lines.
