What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy refers to a broad range of medical treatments that involve the injection of various substances into the skin or the fat under the skin to bring about localized changes.

What is mesotherapy used for?

French physicians first began performing mesotherapy in the early 1950s. Initially, this technique was applied to medical conditions such as chronic pain and sports injuries. Since the early '90s, this medical procedure has been applied to aesthetics for skin rejuvenation. Since about 2000, mesotherapy has been used for the reduction of cellulite and localized areas of fat.

What areas can be treated?

Only the use of mesotherapy for skin rejuvenation is discussed here.

MesoGlow is used simply to boost skin health temporarily by injecting nutrient substances. It leaves the skin "glowing" for two to six weeks.

MesoLift also boosts skin health, but the main goal is to reduce wrinkles. Mesotherapy can also be used to improve scars and stretch marks

What areas can be treated?
Any area of skin can be treated, but the most common areas are the face and neck.

Who is a good candidate for MesoGlow and MesoLift?
Almost everyone from age twenty and up can benefit from MesoGlow. You don't have to have skin problems to see an improvement in appearance.

MesoLift
is intended for older skin that is showing wrinkles and sagging. Patients are usually 45 or older.

Anyone with scars and stretch marks may benefit.

How are treatments done?
MesoGlow is done using an injection technique called nappage, in which the skin is barely pricked as it is injected. Hundreds of pricks are done in 20-25 minutes. Most of these pricks draw no blood.

MesoLift
involves deeper injections into the skin or under the skin. They are usually done using a gun device that allows precise control over the depth of injection and the dose of substances injected.

What substances are injected?
Many of the substances that are injected are naturally found in the body. Some are herbal. Other substances are medications that are approved for other uses, and are finding new uses in mesotherapy.

MesoGlow:
hyaluronic acid (one of the natural filling substances of the skin), multivitamins, trace elements, and procaine ( a local anesthetic with potent antioxidant properties) are always used.
Other substances that can be added to address specific problems include retinoic acid (the antiwrinkle medication used primarily to treat acne), glycolic acid, DMAE (an antioxidant), estradiol, and many more.

MesoLift: hyaluronic acid and procaine are always used. Other substances are used that have properties that stimulate collagen production including Asian centella, conjonctyl, glycosaminoglycans, pyruvic acid, and vitamins.

Do MesoGlow and MesoLift treatments hurt?
Mesotherapy is not painless. Most patients tolerate it very well. The nappage technique barely hurts, and deeper injections hurt a little more.
Topical anesthetics and ice can be used to reduce or eliminate discomfort.

How long does it take to see results and how long do MesoGlow and MesoLift results last?
MesoGlow: Results are noticeable the following day. Skin looks and feels smooth and glowing. The effect will last two to six weeks, and needs to be repeated regularly.

hyaluronic acid (one of the natural filling substances of the skin), multivitamins, trace elements, and procaine ( a local anesthetic with potent antioxidant properties) are always used. Other substances that can be added to address specific problems include retinoic acid (the antiwrinkle medication used primarily to treat acne), glycolic acid, DMAE (an antioxidant), estradiol, and many more.

MesoLift: several weekly treatments are required before the effect becomes noticeable. Skin tightens and makeup goes on more smoothly and evenly. You will look more vibrant and less tired. Maintenance is required every two to six months.

In both cases, family, friends and colleagues will see a change, but they may not be able to identify what it is.

What is the downtime for MesoGlow and MesoLift?
There is no downtime. You can return to regular activities immediately.  There may be some redness and hives for up to two hours.

What are the side effects of MesoGlow and MesoLift?
MesoGlow and MesoLift are very safe.

MesoGlow:
Redness and tiny hives will last an hour or two. There may be transient itching or burning. Since the skin is barely broken, bruising is almost never seen.

MesoLift:
Usually there are no side effects. There may be transient itching or burning. Despite the fact that the injections are deeper than in MesoGlow, bruising is still very uncommon.

Infection is possible but extremely unlikely.

Allergic reactions are possible but exceedingly unlikely.

What are the alternatives to MesoGlow and MesoLift?
There are numerous treatment options that can improve your skin including photofacials (IPL), microdermabrasion, Botox, dermal fillers, peels, skin tightening, laser resurfacing, and facelifts. You should also stop smoking, start using cosmeceuticals regularly, and wear sunscreen!

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice for cancellation of your consultation or treatment, in order to fill the appointment time.  If sufficient notice is not given, the full value of the treatment to be done may be charged, with the minimum charge being $80 (eighty dollars).
